Paul Gow, Excutive Director
Paul has 25 years experience in the mineral exploration and project evaluation sector, initially as an exploration geologist, but later with a focus on the feasibility study and permitting phases. Prior to co-founding Tribeca Resources, Paul worked in various roles at Glencore (originally Xstrata).
He has particular expertise with iron oxide copper-gold (IOCG) deposits, having led exploration and development programs in most of the world’s major IOCG provinces. These include the Gawler Craton, the Carajás district, and the Mount Isa-Cloncurry Belt. He has also worked with porphyry copper-gold projects in Papua New Guinea and Chile.
His early experience was in Australia, and included roles in the research and consultancy sectors, as well as management of significant grassroots and brownfields exploration programs in the Gawler Craton and Mount Isa terranes.
From 2007, Paul worked for four years in Brazil, managing Glencore’s one million hectare copper exploration portfolio, with notable exploration success and consequent sale of the project portfolio to various parties.
Most recently, he spent 2 years as General Manager of the company’s Frieda River Project, a large porphyry copper-gold feasibility-stage project in Papua New Guinea, taking the project through the study process to the ultimate sale of the project in 2013.
Paul is currently a Director of Gow Mineral Consultants, offering geological consulting, primarily to private equity funds investing in the metals and mining space, with a focus on base and precious metals projects.
Paul has a B.Sc. (Hons I) from the University of Melbourne and a PhD from Monash University. He speaks English and Portuguese.
